My name is Terrelle, I am a freelance sports writer and recent Politics and International Relations graduate. Having written my first published football article, aged 12, the “beautiful game” has always been a passion of mine. The community-focused nature of grassroots football interests me, based on how many people from different social backgrounds can unite through one common interest. As sports editor at The Leopard, I wrote monthly articles about Goldsmiths University’s sports teams i.e. football and volleyball. My highlight was reporting on sports tournaments i.e. the Equality Shield. This competition involved Goldsmiths Women’s FC competing against Renaissance FC, a London-based team who help refugees integrate into British society through playing football. Witnessing Goldsmiths students compete against refugees, many of whom have professional footballing aspirations, was a wonderful experience and a testament to how football can unite divided societies.
Several months after graduating, I began match reporting at Crystal Palace FC, summarising academy and women’s matches for the south London club’s website. Despite this being at a time where only reporters, and not fans, were allowed into stadiums, the energy and determination among players to achieve the best possible results couldn’t go unnoticed.
During my spare time, I play five-aside matches and while wearing These boots
are durable and most importantly, comfortable to run, pass and shoot in. How can you forget these?
